In accordance to Governor Laura Kelly’s Ad Astra: A Plan to Reopen Kansas for tomorrow on May 4th, 2020 as well as directives by Douglas, Jackson, Jefferson, Osage, and Shawnee counties. Nathaniel Jackson Productions will be re-opening on a limited capacity starting tomorrow on Monday, May 4th.
By order of the Shawnee County Emergency Management, the Topeka Shawnee County Public Library is to remain closed through the end of May. With respect for social distancing, meetings will be conducted virtually through Zoom or Google Hangouts by appointment between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Saturday. Clients that are needing to fill out paperwork will be sent an interactive Adobe PDF that will need to be filled out and sent back. Payments may still be made by check through USPS Mail, or electronically through the Client Insider Zone with PayPal.
Let me promise you as returning and new potential clients, the uncertainty of COVID-19’s future is all on our minds. If there are any scheduled on-site appointments for aerial and/or ground media work, I will be practicing social distancing of six feet plus the use of a mask and gloves.
Please watch this news center, as well as the social media channels for additional news briefings as we work with returning to normalcy.
Earlier this evening, Preventative Medical Officer, Dr. Gianfranco Pezzino for the Shawnee County Health Department had issued a “Stay Home” order beginning on March 26th, 2020. This is due to the growing pandemic in relation to COVID-19, or known as the Coronavirus.
Due to the order being issued, we expect our other service territory counties for Douglas, Jackson, Jefferson, and Osage to follow suit in the coming days. With this regard, Nathaniel Jackson Productions will be closing tomorrow on March 25th. All future service appointments and meetings are being cancelled by telephone this evening. Please be safe, and tune in to both the local and national news to stay updated on the latest happenings.
Nathaniel Jackson Productions, LLC along with several other businesses and government entities on Friday, September 13th, have joined to form a bike-share task force for the City of Topeka.
This task force is working with the Topeka Metropolitan Transit Authority as well as United Way of Greater Topeka for finding ways to keep the bike-share program running. While I am not at liberty to state how the progress is going for our team, this task force was formed following an announcement made by Topeka Metropolitan Transit Authority. The news media explained how the TMTA board of directors would be ending the bike-share program on December 1st, 2019.
Watch for updates over the next few months from our team as we work to keep the bike-share program running next year in 2020.
While the news is late, it is better than expected. This afternoon on Wednesday, September 4th, 2019, my business – Nathaniel Jackson Productions, LLC and Adobe Incorporated finally came to a contractual agreement for the 2019-2020 term. Beginning late tonight into the morning hours tomorrow the web weather updates will resume, and projects waiting on Adobe’s return will continue.
Businesses sometimes just do not agree completely on contractual issues. Unfortunately, Nathaniel Jackson Productions, LLC is having contractual issues with Adobe Incorporated where the next several days there will not be much work accomplished as our 2018-19 contract will lapse tomorrow. This in addition also means that the Nathaniel Jackson Productions web weather will not be updated. As of right now the talks will continue, with the hopeful resolve soon. While TruMax 3D is not affected by this issue, it will be available on a moment’s notice as conditions warrant on the website. My apologies for you all that must be inconvenienced like my business is.
While Nathaniel Jackson Productions has been under operation for now over one year, this announcement is exciting for residents and businesses in East Central Kansas. Beginning next Monday, July 1st, 2019, Nathaniel Jackson Productions will be adding both Jackson and Jefferson counties to the service territory. Whether you are on the Pottawatomie Indian Reservation, in Holton or in Valley Falls to Lake Perry. You will now be served with the great services Nathaniel Jackson Productions has to offer. It may take a few weeks before NJP-UAV reservations can be made for these counties as rural private airports have to be identified and added to our worksheets.
In addition to the two counties being added to the service territory of Western & Central Douglas, Osage, and Shawnee counties, on our weather center we will also be adding one additional forecast image for hourly planning with four-hours intervals from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. the following day.
Beginning later this month on Tuesday, May 14th, Nathaniel Jackson Productions business subsidiary, SimWorld, will be partnering with Topeka’s convention and visitors bureau, Visit Topeka.
SimWorld, which provides entertainment value to enthusiasts with simulation and action video games with titles like Minecraft, American Truck Simulator, The Sims, and Cities: Skylines. SimWorld is working with Cities: Skylines to start a new series titled “Cities Skylines: Topeka.”
Cities: Skylines is designed by Colossal Order, and distributed by Paradox Interactive and Valve Corporation. Cities: Skylines is an open-ended city-building simulation. Players engage in urban planning by controlling zoning, road placement, taxation, public services, and public transportation of an area. Players work to maintain various elements of the city, including its budget, health, employment, and pollution levels.
“My goal is to provide the series as an educational tool for several of Topeka's agencies.” Nathaniel Jackson, business entrepreneur and games guru for SimWorld, stated. “This can be looked at for use by Topeka Metro, Topeka's public transit agency. As well as the city's infrastructure government like the planning department, police, and fire departments.” Jackson added. Cities: Skylines have been used in real-life planning from places like Stockholm, where Colossal Order's offices are located. Other urban planners have begun using the game to understand specific scenarios in various forms better. “My objective with this series is to showcase the traffic problems our planning department cannot see in the real world.” Jackson explained.
When approached with this idea, Visit Topeka president Brett Oetting and vice president Mike Bell were cautious of what Nathaniel Jackson Productions [SimWorld] were doing. Once Nathaniel shared some older on-air footage for earlier city builds such as Allendale, Beaverton, Chilchinbito Oetting, and Bell were excited to join this venture. Every few weeks, Nathaniel will give progress updates on how the gameplay is progressing and what steps will be shown on the air.
You can watch Cities Skylines: Topeka from SimWorld’s website.
While Nathaniel Jackson Productions has been on the forefront of social media with Facebook the last nine months, beginning today Nathaniel Jackson Productions has joined Facebook’s sister social media network, Instagram. What you will expect to see over on Instagram will be announcements for meeting at the team room with Topeka Shawnee County Public Library. You will also be getting updates on specials, plus I will be investigating on using Instagram’s long-form video service IGTV. Come check Nathaniel Jackson Productions out on Instagram at http://www.Instagram.com/NJPTopeka.
Today is Monday, February 5th, 2018, and this marks our grand opening for Nathaniel Jackson Productions in Topeka! While many of you will remember my former business, NateDog Productions from several years ago which launched with a downtown office at the Kansan Towers. My launch for Nathaniel Jackson Productions will be more reserved as my operations will be run from my central Topeka suite. What this means for you now is I do not have an in-house photography or video studio for these client services. It also means I do not have an actual physical office for you to come meet to talk over projects or make in-person payments, there is a solution, however, that I have come up with that works for all parties involved.
Two days out of each month I will be hosting a meeting session at the Topeka Shawnee County Public Library, located at 1515 SW 10th Street in the team meeting rooms. When I schedule a meeting session at the team meeting room, it will be for one to three hours usually between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. during the week. During my scheduled sessions, you will not need to make an appointment with me as this will be a drop-in time to discuss projects, and make payments in-person. Now I have been told by David King, an administrator with the library that ongoing construction is underway and will be through Summer 2019. You will need to watch for signs getting to the mid-section of the building where the team meeting rooms are. When I schedule a team meeting room, I will post on our Facebook one week out, and two days out where the meeting room is, and when the room is reserved for.
If there are hesitations with coming to Topeka for a meeting, or the schedule is inconvenient for you – please do not hesitate to call me at 785-969-5257.
